Space and Research Applications

Liquid Hydrogen (LH₂) has been a cornerstone of space propulsion systems since the 1960s. Its high energy density and clean combustion make it ideal for rocket fuels. NASA Space Launch System (SLS), designed for deep space missions, relies on approximately 730,000 gallons of LH₂ and Liquid Oxygen for its core and in-space stages.

As space exploration reaches new heights, the demand for reliable Liquid Hydrogen (LH₂)support systems has never been greater. INOXCVA rises to this challenge, collaborating with some of India’s most prestigious scientific institutions, including ISRO, atomic energy agencies, and national research laboratories, to deliver world-class cryogenic and Liquid Hydrogen solutions for space and scientific research.

INOXCVA’s Role in Advancing Space Technology

We were the first in India to manufacture cryogenic propellant handling systems and tanks locally, supporting satellite launch complexes as well as Hydrogen transport destined for space. In 2010, we designed and supplied 15 m³ Liquid Hydrogen tanks to ISRO’s launch facility—an early milestone in the country’s cryogenic achievements. In 2014, we were entrusted with the construction of complex cryolines for the ITER fusion project, highlighting our expertise in advanced, technology-intensive engineering at a global scale.

Our Cryo Scientific Division specialises in solutions for launch pad Liquid Hydrogen and Oxygen fuelling, thermo-vacuum test chambers, ultra-low temperature environments, and precision propellant transfer systems. These turnkey systems are the result of decades of engineering excellence and have enabled space programmes to operate with outstanding precision and reliability.
