Ferus Smit BV delivered its 2nd LNG powered dedicated cement tanker "MV Ireland" on 9th June after extensive sea trails. "MV Ireland will join its sister ship "MV Greenland" which has been in successful operation since January 2016.

These ships are the first ever dry cargo vessels with an LNG fueled propulsion system and LNG tanks integrated inside the hull. The unique design incorporates a pressurized LNG tanks positioned in the foreship.

INOXCVA is proud to have supplied the 130 m3 LNG Fuel Gas tank which measures 5.20 m in diameter, 10.30 m in height with the Tank Connection Space on the tank front. INOXCVA along with our client "CRYONORM SYSTEMS BV" who is overall responsible for installation of the total LNG Fuel Gas System on board the ships, overcame the challenge of designing and integrating the "skirt" of Vertical LNG Tank, meeting all dynamic and thermal loads appropriately distributed and positioned to match the ship structures below the tank to the full satisfaction & compliance of classification society "Lloyd Register".
