Cryogenic engine testing in high aptitude(HAT) mode for IPRC,ISRO for mahendragiri

Augmentation of CRYO engine test stand a critical project, was successfully completed by Cryo-Scientific Division of INOXCVA.

The test facility required augmentation of liquid Oxygen (LOX) & liquid Hydrogen (LH2) systems for engine HAT mode test. The system consisted of LOX & LH2 Vacuum Jacketed Super Insulated piping, Vacuum jacketed cryogenic flow components, cryogenic filters, instrumentation & extension of Catch Tanks.

Available space on the operating test stand being the major constraint, required innovative design & analysis. The Super insulated piping design and manufacture required incorporating very large size flow components and installed on the test stand In-situ. Also, the cryogenic fluid capacity of tank was increased with a DOME a challenge by itself.

Close working with the ISRO PROPULSION COMPLEX design & project team led to completion of the project
