ITER is an international nuclear fusion research and engineering megaproject at Cadarache facility in southern France, funded and managed by seven member entities including India.
INOX Indi, a leading manufacturer of cryogenic equipment, has been entrusted by ITER France, to design, manufacture and supply Flexible Cryolines for the transfer of Cryogenic fluid from the different Cold-Valve Boxes to the Shattered Pellets Injectors located at Upper & Equatorial Ports of ITER Tokamak. Prototype test of segment is successfully completed at INOX facility in Kalol, Near Vadodara India, and delivery of the entire network to ITER site is due in Q3 2021.
System involves four networks, each of them comprising of 2 independent single process Cryolines; one supplies supercritical Helium at 5K to the Shattered Pellets Injectors, while the other returns Helium at 100K.
Designed for various load combinations including accidental conditions of fire and external pressurizatio, these flexible Cryolines have diameter upto DN80 and lengths upto 75m
